This month we have the very talented Connie Stewart playing along with us! Thanks Connie. The theme for this months hop is Sale-a-bration, so all of us will be showcasing one or more items that you can get for free, just by spending $90 or more on any Stampin'Up! products.
The Sale-a-bration items I have chosen to use are both papers- the Perfectly Artistic DSP and the Wildflower Fields DSP.
The Perfectly Artistic DSP is absolutely gorgeous, with 12 double sided sheets, featuring marbled and watercoloured tonal designs. They work well with other products and lend a really artistic look to any project. These papers are one of the limited time only designs, and are available until Feb 15th.
The inspiration for the project came from the black and white design on one of the Wildflower Fields papers. Again these papers come in a pack of 12 sheets, with 6 different double sided patterns, each inspired by nature.
I simply copied the whispy plant design using a lead pencil then stitched with silver metallic thread. I love the look of a stitched design on paper, and simple designs like this are so easy to enlarge.
Other items I have used include cardstock (whisper white and smoky slate), silver glimmer paper (matting the sentiment) and what has to be one of my favourite sentiments, "You're in my thoughts and prayers" from the Rose Wonder set.
Make sure to follow all of the blog links so that you can get some fantastic inspiration on how to use those Sale-a-bration freebies.
