But I finally decided that I would use this design for the inspiration for my project:
I love the gorgeous blue Bermuda Bay cardstock (a colour I dont often use) set against neutral tones, as well as the way this card showcases 2 of the great Sale-a-Bration sets. The What I Love flower outline makes a great background design!
Here is my take:
I used Basic Grey as well as Basic Black ink to create my background. The black flowers are actually highlighted with Wink of Stella... which is super tricky to photograph!
I actually "finished" the card and put it aside prior to adding the fussy cut flowers. But my husband saw it and said "I think that needs a few small flowers, just sort of around the words." If you look at the original, it appears my husband and Allison think alike!
I have used two subtler shades of blue on my border (Pool Party and Lost Lagoon) as well as the bright Bermuda Bay sentiment. The flowers are from the Birthday Bouquet paper series.
